| | | | | | Absolutely awesome new Boris release and probably the most complete cross section of what Boris are capable of. ‘Pink’ was released in 2005 amongst a billion other Boris albums, including live albums, compilations and whatnot, but boy does this one stand out. The album is pretty much split into two styles – Sleep/Electric Wizard/Sabbath-esque‘stoner rock’ (yeah, I hate that term too) and massive low-end drone sludge workouts (think Absolutego). Probably ranking as some of there finest work in these styles. ‘Pink’ starts with a coasting drum beat and warm feedback that sounds like post-rock, but after no less than a minute the heavy, filthy and dirty sound Boris is so well known for kicks in. The second track is the first stoner track with a filthy-as-hell guitar tone and for the rest of the album, the sludgier songs share the spotlight with the more stoner stuff. Highly recommended and definitely worth the import price. more by Boris and related | | | | | |
