'Best of...' from post-punk legends, Blurt. "In 1980 Ted Milton threw down his gloves, picked up an alto sax, & formed the instantly famous psycho-funk, afro-punk, no-wave, pogo-jazz-trio BLURT. A lover of wordplay, Blurt lyrics are dada ga-ga woven around some kind of derailed spark. Minimalist guitar spews out repeating patterns of stark chords that function almost like a backing samba against Ted's incoherently belching screams and squirming sax, although at other times Blurt is at their most accessible, featuring lyrics that are actually decipherable and even hooks (between saxophone tweetings) that are as catchy and memorable as any pop refrain.
