9dw / Boris
Golden Dance Classics
Catune
This EP is a result of a fifteen year old friendship between both bands & initiated by 9dw. "Stingray" is a cosmic disco tune laden with analog synthesizers. On "Spice", creamy synth bass & light drums combine to make a fresh fusion sound. Boris contributed two new songs for this release. "Tokyo Wonder Land" is an experimental tune which uses a cheap drum machine & filter bass, while "Akirame Flower" is a more typical Boris sounding track featuring their trademark wall of sound guitar noise & drone vocals.

Feedbacker... At Last
Conspiracy
Originally released only as a limited edition picture disc, this in demand record is now available on 180 gram vinyl with heavy sleeves and a big fold out poster. Boris' Feedbacker is featured in the new Jim Jarmusch movie 'The Limits Of Control'.
"A single 43 minute composition / symphony (broken into five tracks) from Japan's drone druids that goes from etheral to crushingly heavy and everything between. Stark in contrasts and attention to texture.
Feedbacker begins at the core, with ambient waves of Earth-like drones rippling across an otherwise silent nine minute expanse before Atsuo spills into his cymbals, commencing a funereal march. Bassist / vocalist Takeshi drawls up and down his double-necked bass while Wata (guitarist) curls out little tongues of blue flame."

Japanese Heavy Rock Hits v.2: H.M.A.
Southern Lord
"The second of three new Boris 7"s is available now. Volume Two, "H.M.A. - Heavy Metal Addict", features two newly recorded tracks. On Side A, the title track "H.M.A." is a heady slab of heavy metal tropes, alternating between spacey industrial SFX, hard-driving guitar and the mantra-like chants of the titular acronym. Side B continues with “Black Original”, which echoes the spacey, electronic drive of “H.M.A.”, but cuts out any pretense towards the heavy rock vibe of Boris’ work, instead leaning towards a very basic electro-industrial approach. Cover features the controversial photo (ala Cold Lake era Celtic Frost!) of Atsuo. TRULY GRIMM!" -

Japanese Heavy Rock Hits v1: 8
Southern Lord
"For over 15 years Boris has lead the charge as Japan's most exciting experimental rock act. Considering their peers and countrymen this is no easy feat. Even stacked up against a lot of their Southern Lord brethren (a roster including some of the hardest-working, forward-thinking artists in music) Boris always stands out as some of the biggest risk-takers, with a voluminous catalogue to back up that reputation.
This fall marks yet another first for the band as they release Japanese Heavy Rock Hits, a series of 7 inches showcasing their wide-reaching, genre-smashing sound.
Volume One titled 8, features two newly recorded exclusive tracks. On Side A, the title track "8" continues the spacey hard-rock sound established on their classic albums Pink and Smile, building from a mono, lo-fi wall of feedback into a ripping, slab of lush vocals..."

Mangled Demos From 1983
Ipecac
track samples
Brand new CD on Ipecac from the highly prolific masters of behemouth rock. Part of the same scene as Earth, the Melvins were a massive influence on Sunn O))) and Boris whose name taken from their favourite Melvins track. They have also been part of endless side-projects working alongside Joe Preston (Sunn O))), Thrones, High On Fire), Mike Patton (Fantomas, Faith No More), Lustmord (SPK), Napalm Death and countless others.
All tracks are previously unreleased demos from 1983 onwards and all feature the first line-up of Buzz, Mike, and Matt. This is the very first time these demos have ever been released and they sound as raw & vital as they did back then. Also features amusing liner notes and stellar artwork as always by Buzz and his wife.

Sunn O)))
Oracle
Southern Lord
"Orakulum was originally composed for a live performance collaboration with the New York sculptor Banks Violette at the Maureen Paley Gallery in London, June of 06. Violette created sculptural representation of Sunn O)))s entire backline in cast resin and salt, including amplifier stacks, instruments, effects & accompaniments. In addition, black laquered stage platforms and sound panels were created as a basis for the groups actual backline setup, and a selection of drawings were presented within the context. The result of this performance and collaboration, which was conducted in a sealed gallery space, was intended to generate a feeling of absence, loss and a phantom of what once was..."
