Postage & Packaging Rates

Below is a table giving guidelines to the cost of postage and packaging per item for deliveries in the UK. European postage rates including Southern Ireland are double the UK rates and rates for the rest of the world are three times that of the UK.

Please note that these are guidelines only and prices may vary depending on the shape, size and weight of items. For example, box-sets and unusual CD/LP covers may cost more depending on the casing. Likewise LPs pressed on heavier vinyl may be more.

We cannot accept responsibility for missing parcels once they have been dispatched so we recommend choosing Recorded, Special or Signed For Delivery on the checkout pages for an additional £1 for Recorded or £3 Special Delivery within the UK or an extra £3.50 for Europe and the rest of the world. If you have any other special postal requirements or require insurance then please email, call, or make a note in the 'comments/special instructions' box on the checkout pages.

Stock availability

Everything visible on the website is currently in stock and we remove items as soon as they are sold out. If you want items that do not appear on the website then feel free to contact us as we may be able to obtain them for you.

Searching

You can search for items on our site in a number of ways. For example, a search with the word "World" will return titles that closest fits that genre. You may also search by artist, album title or label, and other keyword associations.

Ordering Titles

You may order any titles of interest in the following ways:

Card payments via the website

The website has a secure payment area where we can accept payment from Switch, Visa Debit, Delta or Connect, Mastercard, JCB and Solo. Use the 'add to cart' link to add any titles of interest to your cart. You can order multiple items and change the quantity of each item if required.

When you're ready to pay for the items progress to the checkout screens where you'll be asked to register (if a first time user) or login with an existing userid and password.

Once you have entered all the details correctly progress to the secure card payment area to enter your card details and complete the order. You'll receive a confirmation email and we will dispatch the goods.

If you wish to cancel the order please use the 'Cancel Order' button that appears on the checkout pages.

Other methods of payment

You can also place card orders over the phone by calling 07878 051 726. If you want to send a cheque or postal order please make payable to 'Second Layer' and always email or phone beforehand to reserve items so they can be put aside as certain items can sell out very fast.

Postal orders, cheques or cash are also fine with us but if sending cash please send it via Recorded Delivery and well-concealed as we cannot accept responsibility for loss. All cheques should be made payable to 'Second Layer'.

Paypal is also acceptable but we ask that you add 4% to all orders to cover the Paypal fees and once again please call or email to have items reserved before sending payment.
